Work Blog
This is my work blog. I blog for my boss, so he knows what I'm up to and that I'm continuing to better myself in a metaphysical, spiritual and technical way. Blogging is necessarily a personal journey, as is web development, because it's truly all about the inner kinetic and the outer calm. Really.
My boss is from California. Can you tell?
In general, I have always found blogs to be stupid. I mean, really, who wants to read about what you had for breakfast or the incredibly lame thing you cat did at 2 in the morning last night? Trust me, the people who give a shit about any of that crap have already had to listen to your asinine stories in person.
However, as I started to move more and more under the thumb of the corporate chaingang, I found myself having to recall in painfully intricate detail not just what I was working on, but when and for whom and for how long. With upwards of 50 tickets a week, and at least a handful of major projects going on at any given time; with hundreds of thousands of pages grouped into more than 35 distinct sections... there was simply no way that I could keep all that in one tiny human brain. Hence, the blog.
My blog is a reflection of what I'm learning, what I'm doing, and generally the state of the web at the time. I don't expect anyone to read it for fun, or even for usefulness... it's merely here so that when someone asks me what productive forward-thinking career development I did this week, I can point them here and say "read about it in the blog" as opposed to having to play a convoluted game of 20 million useless questions.
Plus it gives me a place to bitch randomly. And I'm all about the bitching.
