• Interlocking between LVM2, libdevmapper and udev is clearly required. After many false starts we have come up with the solution described in the following slides.

• • Problem: Reacting to the ADD event.
  • Solution: Tell udev to ignore the ADD event, and add CHANGE events to the places in the kernel where it is safe to proceed instead: for example, when renaming and when resuming.
