From: Mark G. Date: Wed, 31 Aug 2011 08:41:20 -0700 (PDT) We decided the firearms instructors needed a simple trauma kit to keep in our range vest. We contacted several companies and settled on Med Storm (progressivemed.com) because they were willing to build us a kit to our custom specs. We worked with a guy (EMT) we met by accident at the range who treated our gunshot victim. He was a seal medic and served several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. The first question was should we use quik clot (we asked several people for opinions on this). The consensus was no. Apparently quik clot is falling out of favor with field medics. The advice we got was pressure and gauze. Thats it. So, our kit contains: one tourniquet TK4L(one handed), GSA HALO chest seal (2), gauze primed, emergency bandage 4", glove rolled triton TE, bandage conforming 4" and shears black 55. It all fits in a small vacuum sealed bag that fits in our vest or cargo pocket. All of our investigators are getting it. The company said they may offer our kit for sale in the future to the public or other agencies (#660375).
