• Relaxed restrictions on extending striped logical volumes.

• Improved recovery tools, including a facility to bring up as much as possible of incomplete logical volumes (e.g. after disk failure).

• Writable high-performance snapshots.

• Run fsck on a snapshot of a mounted filesystem to test its integrity.

• Test applications against production data by taking a snapshot and running tests against the snapshot, leaving the real data untouched.
