• Build a single binary (argv[0], readline, #! scripting).

• Unified command line processing.

• Optionally build library based around command line interface.

• Support metadata formats via .so (lvm1, lvm2, pool).

• Concurrent use of different metadata formats for different VGs.

• Support a new metadata format:

  • Human-readable
  • Atomic changes
  • Redundant copies
