Steven Ellis - Technical Portfolio Evangelist, Red Hat, APAC

Steven has been with Red Hat since they opened their New Zealand office in May 2011. His involvement in Open Source stretches back over 25 years, including close to 20 years using Linux within a variety business environments. Since moving to New Zealand he has provided technical direction and operational guidance for a number of New Zealand companies on the use of Open Source and Linux through roles with Optimation and IBM prior to joining Red Hat.

He currently works at Red Hat within their APAC Office of Technology team providing Product Management coverage across their Storage and HCI technologie, in addition to his role as a Technology Evangelist

Steven has spoken on Linux and Open Source technologies at a number of local and international conferences including OSDC, linux.conf.au, Linux World, OSCON, in addition to local Docker and OpenStack Meetups, Auckland Barcamp plus the Auckland Linux Users Group.

As part of his role with Red Hat Steven has organised a number of technical Deep Dive sessions in Auckland and Wellington.

In his spare time he still hacks on MythTV, and debugging random new bits of hardware that really should know better.
