I gave a presentation at the Xen Summit 2007 (Yorktown, NY) titled "libvirt: secure remote management for virtualization". It covered the ongoing work to provide secure remote mamangement capabilities in the libvirt API. It also details some of the related issues such as access to the VNC and text consoles.
